Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
PokedexUI (“the app”) is developed by Viktor Gidlof. This policy describes what data the app handles.
Data Collection
PokedexUI does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Local Storage
The app stores Pokemon data, item data, search history, and your favourites locally on your device using SwiftData. This data never leaves your device.
Network Requests
The app fetches Pokemon data from the PokeAPI (pokeapi.co) to populate the Pokedex. These requests contain no personal or identifying information.
Local Multiplayer
The app uses Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework to enable local battles between nearby devices over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. During a session, your device name is shared with nearby players. No data is sent to any server — all communication is peer-to-peer and limited to the local network.
Third-Party Services
PokedexUI does not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising services.
Pokemon Content and Trademarks
Pokemon and all associated names, images, and trademarks are the property of Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, and Game Freak. All Pokemon data and imagery displayed in this app is sourced from PokeAPI (pokeapi.co), a free and open RESTful API. PokedexUI is an unofficial, fan-made application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, or Game Freak.
Children’s Privacy
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
